I have seen them before but was only able to photograph them lately growing atop toghether with some lichens at the the top of a moist wall at a special education school of QC. They are small plants and they look edible which they are. I am providing a link to a previous posted photo.
I will certainly go back to take more photographs. This plant was id'ed by Al Ferrer Claud. Dr. Stuart mentioned this humble plant has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, refrigerant, analgesic, antifungal, anticancer properties! Of course such claimss have to be proven beyond doubt.
