Flowers: Green tambis, macopa, water apple

They are not sweet, but they are very common. Here is a not common green variety planted in Pulupandan.

Note: Revised December 25, 2012,fixing bad Facebook photo links.

The circuitous folds of this flower resembles a cock's comb or wattles.
Here is a photo from a Handbook of Philippine Flowers member.

The only explanation why you cannot see the photos hosted in Facebook is that Facebook may have changed the image url links. (Will take note of this).

What a name. They call this a shrimp plant for some reason.Another common name is candleflower, but that applies more to the acapulco plant flower.

Guava

I am taking new photos of guavas. This blog cannot display photos I have personallyy taken myself and hosted in Facebook. For example, the supposed flower taken with my old but still running Olympus VG-110 camera Here is a close up of guava flowers at UP Clarkfield (UPEPP) cannot be viewed anymore. The image has the address "https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/379866_2541113021456_1662608581_2269730_565410740_n.jpg".

So today, July 25, 2013, I took a new photo with my HS25EXR camera:

I will add more photos in the future.

Flowers: Caesalpinia pulcherrima, Peacock flower, poinciana

I do nor know what happened to this post. The original image is not showing anymore!
So I am changing the photo, but still linking to it.

The flower above was photographed in Clarkfield, Pampanga. Here is a yellow variety.

Some say it is a flower of the fire tree. We will check that statement later, but according to the reference, this one only grows to 3 meters high. Can our readers verify that the flower in this page, is different from the one shown here.

Mommawannabe.com

One of the commenters said that it is a Casesalpinia shown in the link.So peacock flower is a firetree?

Flowers, Hibiscus

I am revising this article with photos uploaded to blogger. We call them Tapulanga back home and I think they are the most common flowers anywhere in the Philippines due to their variety.

This one is in my sister's Fairfield School (a special education school for children)

Here are some double hibiscus from UP Institute of Biology grounds. We are looking for the flower photos formerly hosted in Facebook!

Found it!

Here is a higher resolution image saved in facebook.

The Pua Pua Aloalo, yellow hibiscus, is Hawaii's state flower. Here are photos of a yellowish hibiscus in Fairfield School:

We will crop later the last image.

The variety of colors are amazing. Here is a photo from our Australian Facebook friend:
