Asclepias physocarpa, swan plant, balloon plant

We used to play with these plants when we were young, we squeezed the balls or even them and we are glad nobody tried to taste its liquid goo as it is poisonous! After searching in google for plants with scrotum, plants with balls, we were rewarded with a link (cant remember the exact links) to our reference (see table)

This plant is a favorite of the grand monarch butterfly. The fact that the plant is alkoloidal endows the butterflies their unpalabity to predators such as birds. Our specimen comes from our late beloved sister's farm at Don Salvador Benedicto.

This plant is NOT native to the Philippines. It is from Southeast Africa!
