Butterfly at Dunsulan Falls in Bataan

The entrance fee was fifty pesos per person at the Pilar resort where Dunsulan falls is. They give you an official receipt.The Dunsulan waterfall itself is small, not as spectacular as the one in Don Salvador Benedicto. But my wandering spirits was lifted with the sighting of this black butterfly:

Dark brown butterfly with spots

I thought it will turn out to be just all brown.But upon closer inspection, it was easy to find that it has spots.

Unknown Butterfly or Moth?

I do not know the species of this butterfly.

Identified by Dr. Romana Reyes of Bago City as Striped Albatross (Appias libythea olferna). Many thanks, Dr. Romana!

Insects: a new colorful butterfly.

It is the same buterfly in the fist and second photos. Butterflies usually visit flowering plans during warm weather.(Taken near noon!).

Photographing butterflies with the Samsung WB150F

It is getting easier to shoot beautiful butterflies with a high magnification zoom lens. I can now capture (shoot) them without disturbing them. Here is one I shot at Clarkfield UP Campus.

A beautiful milkweed danaid butterfly

What I like about these butterflies is that they are not shy in exposing their beautiful topside of their wings. Here is one which I caught in my Samsung camera and posted in Facebook.

I enjoy finding the common and scientific names of plants and flowers. I hesitate to do that with butterflies. Here is one clear photo, after many attempts catching it, at UP Clarkfield.
