A pair of white butterflies
I saw this pair of butterflies (or moths?!) in UP Clarkfield. I think it is mating season and they are coming out more. Unfortunately, unlike the Danaids, these types prefer to fold their wings vertically, making them look like leaves. Their wing uppersides are much better to look at, but you will seldom catch them in full glory.
What is remarkable in my photo is the clarity of the veins in the wings. I think this is the mating season for this butterfly type. I saw a group of five or seven flitting together among the hedge plants.

Insects: butterfly
I enjoy finding the common and scientific names of plants and flowers. I hesitate to do that with butterflies. Here is one clear photo, after many attempts catching it, at UP Clarkfield.
Here is another shot of the same(supposedly) butterfly.
I will appreciate it if a reader identifies the beautiful butterfly.
Photos taken by Ernesto Adorio,PhD. with an Olympus VG-110 digital compact camera.

I used to run after butterflies or moths, but I got wise, an instead wait near flowers. They usually come back. I sure wished I have a long lens or a superzoom camera, but this photo make me smile what patience can do.
It is not the camera which makes the photographer but the photographs. Keep shooting.
