I was stumped in indentifying the fruits in this photo of my Australian based Facebook friend I submitted the photo to another Facebook group whose mission is to conserve Philippine native trees and plants.
It is a surinam cherry, and according to the references is not a true cherry. Advise is to pick the blood-reddish ripe ones as this is the best tasting form.
