Flowers, crown of thorns, euphorbia milii

Some are mesmerized by the bloody color of the flowers. Others find them ugly when they are fully grown. It is easy to grow and are quite hardy.

Beautiful flowers with unknown names.

I have taken a photo of beautiful flowers in Baguio last April 1, 2011.
Yet I still dont know the name. I just hope someone can recognize these.

Taken with a Samsung S30 camera.

Already identified as a
celosia argentea plumosa
. Related to another celosia, the coxcombs or celosia cristata.

Jan. 21, 12:40 corrected wrong date to April 11, 2011, Changed C3 (a nokia phone) to S30.

Another panoramic shot of Philoca looking at the Quezon Memorial Circle Tower.

Creating panoramic images in LInux Ubuntu

I just tried out stitching panoramic images with the Hugin software for Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot Linux. Here are two pan shots.

The first is at the North Avenue-Edsa area taken at SM -City. From 5 photos!

The second is at Philcoa area. From 3 photos.

All photos taken with Olympus VG-110.
You dont have to buy a panoramic camera just to have simple pan shots. However, an inexpensive SONY camera will take smoother panoramic images.

Turning dark sunset time scenes into day photos with Olympus VG-110

Change the shooting mode to SCN/{Night Scene}. Here are two photos in this mode. If you dont have a tripod, be sure to hold the camera steady while taking the photos.

The following photo has some illumination from fluorescent fixtures.

whereas the following has none, except the twilight.

The following photo was shot in {DIS Mode}. We should still be able to see an outline of the subject.

Flowers: Spathodea or flame tree

I dont know if facebook disallows linking to my OWN photos hosted in their servers, but I will keep trying.

This is a showy flowering tree and the sight of clumps of trees in full bloom is a sight to behold. It is sometimes called a flame tree.

Here is one of my latest photo of spathodea.

I will be looking again sometime for my old photos hosted in Facebook!!
