Creating panoramic images in LInux Ubuntu

I just tried out stitching panoramic images with the Hugin software for Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot Linux. Here are two pan shots.

The first is at the North Avenue-Edsa area taken at SM -City. From 5 photos!

The second is at Philcoa area. From 3 photos.

All photos taken with Olympus VG-110.
You dont have to buy a panoramic camera just to have simple pan shots. However, an inexpensive SONY camera will take smoother panoramic images.

  1. I have tried Hugin a ways back, always been a photographer, and always been a Linux user, so the two seemed perfect. The problem I run into most is poor UI design, and poor workflow in these kinds of apps.

If you interested in my photography checkout my blogs: Freed Up Thoughts
The first is my Portfolio, and The second is my Techblog, though the last 6 or 7 posts have revolved more around one of my Courses.

    1. Thanks Tobias, the software developers need critical but constructive feedback like yours.
I cannot complain though, better than nothing, and it seems Hugin needs users to post more helpful articles on its use and example photos.
