Birds: fantail, Rhipidura javanica

I suspect that one of these is a male and the other female. July 22, 2013: No, it is a different bird, the maria kafra! will split this later.

Amethyst Brown-Dove, Phapitreron amethystina

I caught this bird on my Olympus cam last October 16 near noon. I think it is a wild dove, but I am not sure. It has a distinctive white ear line.

I googled for Negros brown dove and I found this link. This is my best guess so far. The second best guess is Phapitreron leucotis but I cannot see the white breast and bluish tinge at the back of the head. I am willing to be corrected.

Pushing the optical zoom limits on the Samsung WB150F camera

I now find myself hemmed in by the generous(?) 15x optical zoom of the Samsung camera. I am not after high resolution. I am after usable images.This has been cropped.

It was said that the maya was the former National Bird of the Philippines, but the current one is the mighty monkey eating eagle. But before that an endangered native oriole bird.
