Persian Shield


This colorful plant, Strobilanthes dyerianus, is often grown for its foliage, with leaves having that metallic purple color splashed with green. I found this specimen in QC Memorial Circle.



I need to find more beautiful ones in terms of color and sheen.

In spite of its name, this plant is native to Burma or Myanmar.
